Heart Month

February is Heart Month... it's a good time to think about Heart disease and what you are doing to avoid it. 600,000 Americans die every year of Heart Disease. It's the leading killer of both Men & Women.
So many deaths every year are from preventable diseases, either diet related, smoking, excessive alcohol,  sedentary lifestyles, etc... so what is keeping people from getting rid of these bad habits? or at least trying...
So many people eat fried foods, cakes, smoke cigarettes, dump tons of sugar into their coffee or teas, drink gallons of soda per week and then go to church on Sunday and pray that the Lord will make them healthy... well guess what? You are the only one that can do that for yourself. Just this past week, I overheard an overweight, relatively young (in her 30's) co-worker complain about everything that ailed her, mostly her knees... and no sooner had she finished complaining, that she started talking about the great price the supermarket had on Colas and she also went through her mostly unhealthy shopping list. Why is it in this information age, that people can't put cause and effect together? But then again, some people know exactly what they are doing to themselves but just continue for whatever reason.
