I Want To Ride My Bicycle

I was hoping to have at least a few days of cycling in already this year, but I don't think we've had a day without snow on the street yet. We had that big blizzard the day after Christmas and then a few storms after that, so that means the snow on the bottom of the piles is still Christmas snow. We have another Wintry Mix storm coming on Saturday and some snow showers on Tuesday.
I can't wait to get back on the bike and just ride around the neighborhood. I haven't been on the bike since the end of October when I did the Tour de Bronx. That's a long lay-off... it's going to be rough starting up again. But it shouldn't be as hard as last year when I was carrying 35 more pounds.
Hopefully, March will be a more suitable month to ride, the un-official start of bike season is March 15th, but if the weather is nice enough, I'll be out there at the end of February. I'll be the first to admit that I am a fair weather wimp, because I see people out there in all kinds of weather on their bikes... but I need a little sun and somewhere around 50°F... oh yea and dry streets would be nice also.
I still have my very reachable goal of riding 2,011 miles this year, if I get to ride just 200 days this year I would only have to ride a little over 10 miles a day. Last year my rides averaged about 13 miles a session, which would take me only 155 days to reach my goal. Of course some days there'll be longer rides of 20 miles or more, but most days should be around 13 to 15 miles which would be about an hours ride time for me.
Anyway until the weather becomes more agreeable to me, I will keep doing my walks, with some running mixed in.
