Doctors can tell you to lose weight. Relatives can tell you you need to lose some pounds. Friends can be honest and tell you that you are getting too big. But only you can do anything about it, only you can make it happen. And you have to want it for yourself. If you're doing it for someone else, it ain't gonna work. Only you can motivate yourself to get moving.
Self-Motivation is hard sometimes. Visuals help, find a picture of the actor, athlete or any other person whose physique you would like to have. Keep that picture somewhere that you'll see it everyday... and cut out other pictures of where you want to be seen with your new body... maybe on a beach in the Caribbean, or poolside at a hotel in Vegas, whatever you want. Cut out pictures of the clothes you want to fit in. Cut out pictures of anything else that you want to be doing with your new body. Paste or tape all the pictures on a cardboard or poster-board and put the target date of your transformation on the top. Keep the poster where you work-out, if you exercise at home or somewhere that you'll be able to see it everyday.
The stronger your visualization is, the more energy your mind will use towards your goal. If your mind believes it, it will work to make it happen.
