Important Decision

I've made an important decision concerning my weight training. If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you know every once in a while I complain about a sore shoulder while lifting. I've even switched to lighter weights, doing more reps, instead of heavy weights and less reps, to try to alleviate the soreness.

Well the problem does not seem to be getting any better. From what I've read, this is very common among people who train with weights. It's an inflammation of the acromioclavicular joint and an overstretched ligament. The soreness is easily tolerated at the beginning, but it gradually gets worse over time until finally certain exercises are too painful to perform correctly. It goes on to say, that although not serious, it takes a long time to heal.

So, I've decided to put the weights down for awhile and do workouts consisting of all body-weight exercises like Push-ups, Bench Dips, Pull-Ups, etc.. Of course, I'll have to design a work-out with enough different exercises to work my whole body and enough routines to vary the sessions.

I'm hoping this will help, if not I'll have to follow the other recommendation, which is stop all upper body training for a few weeks.
