If this doesn't make you want to get fit and healthy, there's no hope for you. Just kidding, there's always hope. But research has found that sex can be a heart attack trigger for couch potatoes. They studied 6,000 people who had heart attacks and looked at what the people were doing one or two hours before the attack. Besides sex, infrequent physical activity such as the type done by "weekend warriors" are also heart attack risks for the out of shape.
Also people always over-estimate how much physical activity they are doing. Although gardening or taking the kids to the park might be better than sitting at home and watching TV, I wouldn't count them as exercise if it doesn't raise your heart rate significantly. I even question people who claim they are getting enough exercise by playing golf. You walk, you hit a ball, you watch someone else do it and then repeat. You're blood pressure might be going up if you're losing, but I doubt if you're heart rate is. Tiger Woods is in great shape, but he didn't get that way on the golf course.
I'm not looking forward to tonight's weekly measurements... although I did my weight training, I did not get any walking or cycling in, so the stats can't be good this week. But that's ok, they'll be better next week. ok time to go, have a great day all.
