When I go on vacation or just away for a few days, I tend to take advantage of the convenience of restaurants. After all I'm on vacation or some sort of break. As I'm looking for an appropriate place to eat, I always pass up on the buffet style restaurants. A minor reason is that I used to be in the food service industry and a favorite saying was, “If it didn’t sell the day before, throw it in the buffet.” But another reason is the buffet restaurant lines are always the longest, many times going out the door. I like to go to a restaurant and be seated within a few minutes of getting there, and I like table service.
Observation #1: The majority of the people in line are overweight… you can say that the majority of Americans are overweight, but there seems to be a disproportionate number of heavier people in a buffet line.
A few other observations in buffet style restaurants that I have made: Heavier people chew faster than thin people, they also put more food on their forks at one time than thinner people. Another curious observation is the heavier people sit closer to the food than their thinner counterparts, and they sat facing the buffet tables, while thinner people tended to sit near a window or wall and face away from the buffet. Next time you go to a buffet restaurant, see if you notice the same things.
Besides, people go to Buffet's because they think they are going to get more food for their dollar, and they might be. But if you're trying to lose weight, why would you want more food? The food portions in sit down restaurants are already huge, there's always a refrigerator shelf full of leftovers whenever my family goes out to eat. Maybe I'll order from the children's menu from now on, LOL
So, sit farther away from the buffet table facing the opposite way and put smaller portions on your fork and chew slowly, and you'll be thin in no time. (c:
