What's It All About?

Follow me, or better yet join me as I journey into my sixties... enjoying my grandchildren... trying to stay healthy and fit... maybe some traveling and whatever else tickles my fancy.

Snow's A-Comin'

There is a Major Snow Storm headed my way, so I have to get to bed a little earlier, so I can get up and dig myself out and make an attempt to go to work tonight...
I'm not doing my full workout this week, for a few reasons, they say you should take a week off every 8 - 12 weeks and it's been 14 weeks for me... I will be doing some compound exercises this week though, (I did Bench Presses yesterday) and some cardio and I'm sure I'll be shoveling some snow... and it's the holiday week anyway, the best week to take off.

Ok Christmas is over, you ate too much and drank too much, you feel bloated. The relatives at the holiday get-together got their annual digs in. "Gained a little more weight, eh."  You think it might be time to start going to the gym and maybe start a diet. Well maybe after the New Years and one more Party.
You start reading those ads looking for an easy way. "6-Pack abs in only 2 minutes a day."  "Eat all you want and lose 20 lbs. in 10 days." "Jolt your fat away with this Electric Shock Belt."... The ads are endless... and so is the gullibility of the people that buy this stuff... there are no short cuts, there is no easy way, no miracle cures, no prayers, magic potions, etc... It's work... buying a gym membership won't do it, you actually have to use it, and pick up some weights, or get on the treadmill.... and it's consistency, you have to do it more than once, and even more than once a week... it's a lifestyle change for sure, but a very rewarding one.
