Overhauling my Diet

I’m starting to plan a revamped diet for the new year… my biggest challenge will be eating a smaller dinner. I love my big meal at the end of the day; sometimes 40% of my daily calories come from that last meal. I find myself skimping on the other 5 meals so I can have a big dinner, that’s not good. That’ll be my biggest hurdle to get over. But I’ll do it.
In my native Germany, the big meal is lunch and dinner is a lighter fare. This makes more sense, since you have more time to work off those extra calories from lunch. And even after the light dinner, you’ll see German families out for an evening walk or a bike ride.  Like they say, “Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince, and Supper like a Pauper.” Except the Germans eat Breakfast like a Prince and Lunch like a King. Still, it’s good advice, eat more early and less late.
But I think I just want to balance out my calories a little more over 5 or 6 meals. Transitioning from fruits & grains in the morning, to grains, vegetables & lean proteins during the day and then non-starchy Carbs & lean protein for dinner and protein & healthy fats (Peanut Butter, almonds, etc.)  before bed.
Next step is to plan an actual days menu with the exact macro-nutrient breakdowns for each meal, I’ll try and get that done by Friday. (“There is no try. Do or don’t do.”-Yoda)
