It was a rough day at work today, it couldn't end fast enough for me. Work was non-stop all night... and after work it was a rough ride home, it took twice as long as usual... it was the first snow, which wasn't all that much, but people have short memories and they drive like they normally do, and on slick, wet roads with temperatures below freezing, that's not such a good idea, and the rest of us get stuck behind them until they clear up their "accident". And to top it all off, it was Leg Day, and as everybody knows I hate Leg Day.
But today, I was kind of looking forward to my workout, to release all the stress of the day, it didn't matter which workout it was, I just needed the iron to make me whole again, to center me. And it worked, after my workout I felt much better.
It's a sort of active meditation, you're zoned in. Your mind is relaxed, but focused on the task at hand. I exercise in silence, no TV, no music, nothing to distract me... just me & the iron. I find for me, it's the best way to workout.
